Arab Treadle Press

A neighbor has asked me to help find the next owner for her late husband’s J. Wade Arab press. The Arab is a sturdy (that means heavy) open flywheel, treadle operated machine. It was brought from its home in England for sentimental reasons; it had been a part of a family business in Birmingham. I have the means to put the beautiful old machine on a pallet and onto a truck as needed. You will find that I am not a press expert, but I am sincerely interested in seeing the press go to a loving home.

Added Sunday April 12: I now have a batch of low-res photos I will attach. Interested parties are welcome to higher resolution photos by email. I measured the chase, it is 11” x 15”. There have been some questions about shipping, so let me add that I will load the press for free onto a pickup or trailer, or commercial truck if need be. I will consider delivery for expenses in the Northeast, let’s talk! Also, I have not found the inking rollers yet. Can somebody tell me if those are hard to replace? Thank you!
