I established my press in 2012 when I retired from working as a librarian and museum curator. Its name comes from Helen Waddell’s 1927 book ‘The Wandering Scholars’, which deeply influenced me in my youth. The press aims to foster intellectual freedom, sceptical faith, curiosity and a rigorous questioning of both past and present. It has no commercial aspirations: I print what I want to say. My equipment is all letterpress: a Chandler & Price O.S. 12 x 18, & a Daughaday Model 2 bench-top press.
