C & P 1904 Printing Press and Equipment

The equipment must be sold in one package and to be picked up by the buyer. All the various items are in very good shape and have been in continuous use at least since 1965. So here is the list of items to be sold:

1- 1904 Chandler-Price Letter Press (10 x 15), 3 steel chases and a variable speed electric motor and belt flywheel drive. This press was professional rebuilt in1965 in Wichita, Kansas. It is tight with very-little wear and is in prime working condition. Not used commercially after re-built in 1965. It is a three-roller press.

1- 1898 Challenge 24” Paper cutter with 2 extra blades, 10 cutting sticks and some paper various sizes. Good working order. Has long lever cutting aim and remains quite useable up to 24”.

1-Electric Nolan precision slug cutter cuts lin-o-type strips as well.

1000 line spacers, cabinet metal-made to fit top of type cabinet.

1 – Wood and steel furniture cabinet, tabletop plus wood spacer, metal furniture. Cabinet about 1920, bevel shape.

1- 8” long wood type cabinet with 12 type cases and type.

1-24” long steel type cabinet with 20 cases types 6-36 picas type fonts.

2- 3’ x 3’ composing stones – soft granite type, 4” thick.

30 – 4’ x 4’ type shelves and metal galleys to store set up type.

I have made 4 color ink printings. I have cut various shapes and other types of letterpress work.
The printing press and the paper cutters are on moving skids. This printing “shop” is complete enough to be used commercially or as a hobby craft shop. I would also consider the equipment to be sold as a “working” museum shop.

I believe the equipment to be excellent quality and am asking a price of $6,000 or best offer. 309-397-3542
