Join us at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on April 22, 2017 for a daylong letterpress printing workshop where we will focus on one particular type style. In this workshop we will delve into Clarendon styles, which is a variation of Antique wood type and shares some of the visual characteristics, but it has bracketed serifs. It was often used in newspaper headlines and posters during the last half of the 19th century. We will look at the history, use and design of Clarendon styles, before a full day of printing broadsides and posters on Showcard Presses. Each participant will get to design and print at their own workstation; presses are not shared. The workshop runs from 9 am until 5 pm and the cost is $125 per person with the museum providing all the tools and materials that are needed. Fonts that are not commonly available to workshop participants will be available in this workshop. Join us to create something truly unique! You do not need any experience to take this class. Space is limited, so sign up early.
