Globe Letterpress Workshop at Hamilton on June 24

Join us at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum on Saturday, June 24 for a day-long letterpress printing workshop. This is a fun day of printing with blocks from the “Globe Collection” at the museum. Dating mostly from the mid-20th-century, the Globe Printing collection includes many pieces of handmade type and illustrations. This workshop will unveil a few highlights from the collection and allow participants to work with vintage blocks rarely seen and not often printed at the museum. The Globe Printing Company of Chicago was once among the leading makers of posters for circuses, attractions and general merchandising. In this workshop each participant will get to design and print at their own workstation. The workshop runs from 9 am until 5 pm and the cost is $125 per person with the museum providing all the tools and materials that are needed. Join us to create something truly unique! You do not need any experience to take this class. Space is limited, so sign up early.
