Letterpress Internship available

Classic Letterpress is looking for a new intern! Norman Clayton has been doing beautiful letterpress printing and design for over 25 years and has worked with interns in different shops for over 20 years. We moved to Ojai from the Bay Area 6 years ago. The duration of the unpaid intership is typically 4 months spending 2 days a week in the shop. The intern is responsible for making photopolymer plates, mixing ink to Pantone colors, helping on press with quality control, sorting and shipping jobs, making sample folders, helping keep the shop clean and well organized, etc. Training is given for all tasks. In exchange, the intern learns about how a custom letterpress shop runs, has access to a good library, the Vandercook SP15 and foundry type for doing their own work. For those interested in learning how to become a fine printer, an apprenticeship is available after the internship. Please contact me with interest and questions. Thank you!
