Letterpress Fair Lancaster, PA Saturday Sept 17.

The annual Lancaster (Pennsylvania) Letterpress Printers Fair sponsored by The .918 Club’s Heritage Press Museum will be a three-day event over the weekend Friday Sept 15-Sunday Sept. 17.

It will feature a traditional printer’s fair on Saturday, with a talk on Friday night, and a film on letterpress on Saturday night. An appearance of the Itinerant Printer will round out the event on Sunday.

The main event, the Letterpress Printer’s Fair, will be held on the closed block of 300 North Queen Street in downtown Lancaster, PA on Saturday Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The street will be filled with vendors, printing demonstrations, printing contests, food trucks and live music. It will feature vendors and suppliers of letterpress equipment, foundry type, cards, posters, broadsides, ephemera, and more.

There will also be demonstrations Saturday in the nearby Heritage Press Museum’s 1920s print shop located inside BUiLDiNG CHARACTER, 346 North Queen Street.

The events are free to the public. Any money raised will benefit the .918 Club’s Heritage Press Museum, a non-profit dedicated to the education and preservation of letterpress printing.

Three other events are associated with the Printer’s Fair that weekend. Free tickets are required to attend these events.

On Friday night Jim Sherraden of Hatch Show Print will give a presentation, “From Brayer to Brush.

On Saturday night “Pressing on: The Letterpress Film” by Erin Beckloff will be shown. Both of these events will be at the Millersville University’s Ware Center in downtown Lancaster

Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m, Chris Fritton, the Itinerant Printer, will be printing at the Fruition Collective, 24 W Walnut St, Lancaster.
