Pressure Printing: A Flexible, Experimental Approach to Letterpress Printing, taught by Wendy Partridge
January 27-28, 10 - 4
Pressure printing is a letterpress technique used to create textural prints. This two-day workshop provides a wonderful introduction to the Morgan’s Vandercook presses, the workhorses of letterpress printing. You will learn an easy, no-fuss way to print textural elements and other materials to produce atmospheric prints in a series, or as unique and playful variations.

Color, Pattern, Texture, taught by Bob Keleman
February 10-11, 10 - 4
Join artist and educator Bob Keleman for this two-day workshop exploring art elements using letterpress printing techniques in new and traditional manners. Using the Morgan Conservatory’s type collection and letterpress equipment, you will learn to create abstract color, pattern and texture compositions with both traditional (letterform) and non-traditional (objects mounted to type high) techniques. No prior letterpress experience necessary.

Broadsides, taught by Beth Sheehan
March 17-18, 10 - 4
This two-day workshop exploring the creation and printing of broadsides will showcase a variety of techniques, including, handset type, monotyping on the letterpress, pressure printing, and pochoir. Please come with haikus or a short poem (ideally less than 50 words) for use in your prints. Artist Beth Sheehan will show examples of contemporary broadsides, and will discuss the relationship between text and image, the history of broadsides, and best practices for printing and editioning.
