Commercial letterpress shop closed in Dayton, Ohio

Selz Printing in Dayton, Ohio, closed this summer. The building is for sale and may well sell by the end of the year. There is a vast accumulation of stuff available. Here is a rough list of the presses, in some sort of order from the most useful for the hobby printer to the most specialized:
Golding Pearl with ink fountain and counter (motorized, no treadle)
10x15 C&P Open Press (late model from a school, rusty from storage)
10x15 C&P Open Press (old and will need work)
12x18 C&P Open Press (used regularly)
12x18 Kluge Open Press (used regularly)
12x18 Kluge with feeder (used regularly)
10x15 Heidelberg Windmill (c. 1965, very clean, used regularly) Asking $3,000.
3 Miehle Vertical V-50’s (two have problems)
2 Little Giant 12x18 Cylinder Presses (one hasn’t been used in ages)
Kelly Cylinder press, I think a Model C (not used in years)
2 Webflow Kluges, one with geared feeding, one with electronic feeding
15x20 Heidleberg Cylinder press—flatbed+rotary 2-color (not used in some years)
Model 31 Linotype with lots of mats.
Ludlow with four cabinets, but never set it up, at his home.
Other letterpress stuff you’d expect.
A cabinet of blank cases with scads of numbering machines.
A Seybold cutter, maybe 36”, but looking incredibly heavy.
A cabinet of wood type at his home. Nice older type down to 2-line.

The owner of the shop is Ken Selz. His grandfather started the shop in 1912. Ken is 70 and has health problems. He has just had two eye operations and can’t drive as of this posting. So I am helping him with this liquidation. I have photos of most everything. You can contact Ken Selz at 937-228-9411, and his email is [email protected]. Or you can email me at [email protected] for photos and information and advice.
