You’re Invited to our Second Annual Fundraiser!

Please join us at Hopmonk Tavern for our Second Annual Fundraiser on October 6th! A celebration of printmaking, book arts, education, and community.

Lunch: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Reception: 5:00 - 7:00 PM

Lunch and Program:
A special menu & libations from Hopmonk will be served. Bid on items in the silent auction, and mix and mingle in the beer garden. We will enjoy presentations by Katie Nealon (NBLA President), Tiana Krahn (NBLA Education Director), and instructor, printer, & book artist, Kathleen Walkup.

Lunch will be followed by a reception up the road at the printshop at 5:00 PM, with a raffle, festivities, and dessert.

Silent Auction & Raffle:
—Our silent auction will be set up at Hopmonk and bidding will take place through lunch.
—Raffle tickets will be available during lunch and the reception for three different raffle baskets. Winners will be announced at the reception at Iota Press.

Fun & Games:
Along with spoken entertainment during the program, feel free to partake in some provided fun & games.
—Ems and Ens - Snack on some custom-printed M&Ms
—Fans of Letterpress - Let others know you are a true fan of letterpress by waving our hand-printed fans during the hottest part of the day.
—Limited-Edition Letterpress Poster - Finish the last round of a reduction linocut print on our Vandercook 219 AB and take it home as a keepsake from the day.

Special Guest: Kathleen Walkup
Kathleen Walkup is the inaugural Lovelace Family Chair in Book Art. She has lectured widely on the history of women and printing and on contemporary artists’ books practice. In Fall, 2019, she will have a solo exhibition of her printed books and ephemera in the Mills College Library, and in Fall, 2020, she will curate an exhibition examining the role of women in the rise of artists’ books in the 1970s and 1980s, with satellite exhibitions at the Book Club of California and Mills. She has written extensively on the recent history women and artists’ books on the East and West coasts. She also keeps an occasional blog, New Irish Journal.
