stiff’n’sore press

stiff’n’sore press arose in 2004 as a revival of an earlier identity as Elefont Press (1984). Primarily a playful press, the proprietor enjoys exploring expression typographically with only rare graphic experiments. He works with a few dozen fonts of metal type and half a dozen wood fonts. The shop includes a tabletop Vandercook (#99) and a newstyle Gordon (8x12) manufactured by Westman & Baker. The prop has a keen interest in 19th c. printing technology, particularly with Canadian connections.
