34 1/2” Chandler and Price Guillotine Paper Cutter

This antique C&P paper cutter has a 34 1/2” bed, which is more difficult to find than the smaller versions. According to the Chandler and Price serial numbers, this size was only made between 1925-1939, though it’s stamped with it’s patent date in 1908.

This particular cutter has been motorized, and was working when last used. Apparently it was used to cut boxes for a cigar company, and is set to run on 220 voltage. It’d be very useful for folks who love working with old-school equipment, but appreciate the balance of modern convenience. Alternately, you could probably restore it with an original lever if you want. The cutter is in good shape, and comes with an extra blade. It does have some surface rust from sitting in a warehouse for many years, but that’s easily removed.

I’d love to see this old beauty going to a printer who will give her a little TLC and will use it, instead of having to send it to a scrap heap. I’ve got a limited amount of time before I have to move out of this warehouse and make that decision, so if you’re interested, please let me know asap! Asking $750 OBO, buyer must pick up, and you will, of course, need a pallet jack and a large truck. Thanks!
