Kluge Feeding Woes

I recently bought a Kluge 10X15 and am having some trouble with the feeder. I am looking to do longer runs and don’t want to hand feed so I am set on getting the feeder working.

The main problem I am having at this point is that the delivery arm (the one that pulls the page off the platen after it has been pressed) seems to have trouble picking up the page. I’m thinking it is a timing issue as I took the pipes and tubing all apart and cleaned them out. I’ve also noticed that the feeding arm releases the paper much later than it should. Does anyone know how to adjust the timing?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Andrew did the manual come with the press.? It describes how to set the timing for the feeder. As to the delivery suckers it is also covered in the manual. I am in Marlborough Ma if you not too far from there I would be glad to come and give you some pointers.

Near the foot of the press there is a valve that controls suction and release for the delivery arm. There is a screw on the arm that controls when the valve opens to release the paper.

unless you pulled out the pinion, it should not be out of time. there are 2 adjustments on on the side and on top of the feeder head. one is a “slide” arm that is a “ballpark” adjustment. there is a screw to the ball valve that fine tunes it. the delivery is explained above. a healthy pump with clean system should be producing 15-20 in of vacuum. you can buy a gauge from auto parts store. (vacuum/fuel pressure gauge)
