I believe this is Stellar, by Robert Hunter Middleton for the Ludlow company.

And way pre-Optima. I think Bob did those in the early thirties.
Stellar by Middleton is definitely “pre-Optima” and to paraphrase Goudy “The old boys stole all of our best designs”.
That being said, I think that Middleton “borrowed” the basic concept for Stellar from a c.1898 BB&S face named Record.
I have an original font of 36pt. Record and it is so modern, crisp and stylish that no one ever guesses that it is a 19th century design.
