flat spots on rollers stored off press

Hi all! I’ve recently come into an issue with my rollers getting flat spots (I think), despite ALWAYS storing them rolled all the way down my press, usually with no chase, or completely off the press. I will sometimes leave rubber-based ink on the rollers overnight, but otherwise I’m very careful to take care of my rollers.

The spot is a tapered oval that moves when I rotate the rollers but tends to fall back to the same spot after a few impressions, which is why I’m thinking this is a flat spot and not just lap marks or my rollers hopping on some uneven rail tape.

Any tips?

roll them over a thin layer of antioffset powder or flour and it will accuse flat spots.

What do you wash them up with?
