As I said in a previous topic, I’m doing research on a Brazilian printing house from the 1920s, and I’ve found on their inventory a list of printers and caster and, among them, 3 machines that are described like that: “3 monotypes number EK 15, EK 18, EK 14, with respective engines and 2 keyboards number 9,624 and 9,607”. Does anyone know what codes and numbers mean?

If British Monotype records are anything to go by (the first casters and keyboards made there appeared in 1924) keyboard 9446 was exported to NZ in January 1925 so still probably US made. So 1924-5 would be a likely date of manufacture.
