Oscillating roller and crescent question for an odd press
I have an Italian FTC (Fonderia Tipografica Cooperativa) proof press with an oscillating roller that doesn’t move very smoothly. I removed the screw cover, set screw and what looks like a crescent holder screw without a crescent. The worm gear only has one simple groove in it. The roller has a notch it that seems like it should accommodate a crescent. If so, do I need a new crescent holder as well? The crescent holder screw measures 5/8in (about 16mm) in diameter. By any chance is that the same as a Vandercook? I’ll try to upload an image in the comments.
