advice on furniture and reglet (for a total novice)
I recently purchased a victor 6x9 table top letterpress.
I am in the process of cleaning up and getting it ready to test. I have sourced some stuff, but surprisingly am having a difficult time sourcing wooden furniture and reglets. Anyone have any they can sell (and ship if necessary)? if not does anyone have any suggestions for sourcing and what I would need?
I am quite sure I will have future posts… but for now this is what I am looking for.
You don’t say where you are located - in the US a very good source is Letterpress Things - not only for furniture and reglets but for almost any other stuff you will want for using your press - type, ink, tympan paper, quoins, composing stick, galleys, etc.

Hi Bob, (AdLibPress)
I’m in Dayton, Ohio…
Thanks, I’ll check them out. I have come across several sources where they are asking hundreds of dollars for furniture and a furniture case… I just think there must be a better resource.
I appreciate the input for sure!!!
Gosh, I started printing in that vicinity - I bought my first type and other basics in Dayton over 60 years ago (my press was in Yellow Springs). You could also check with “The Letterpress Dude” in Indianapolis - he is continuing his father’s used printing “Boutique de Junque”. I think he’s on Facebook. Andrew Churchman.

Hello again Bob,
Thank you for the referral to the letterpress dude. That was a real help. He what appears to be a really useful starter kit at a very nice price point for the novice. It appears to be a very nice novice kit, so I have placed an order.
Thank you again,
Doug
If you have a table saw, or a friend with a table saw, you can cut furniture to lots of different lengths and widths. I have some “factory furniture” but I tend to use the stuff I cut just as much
I have boxes full of furniture and reglets in all shapes and sizes as well as any other items you might need to get started. I have contents of a few letterpress shops I purchased over the last 10 years. Wood and metal type, spacing, quoins, gauge pins, ornaments, borders, composing sticks, cabinets, etc.
Feel free to call 516-633-5107

Hello Larry, (Amgreqcorp)
I placed an order for some of the things outlined and a little bit more. I need to wait till all arrive and do an assessment of the press, my supplies and where It all stands. I greatly apreciate your response and hope to reach out at some point.
Doug
