Craftsman Roller Alignment Help
Hello, I have a craftsman 9x12 machine. The rollers on one side stay down compared to the other end. Please see the image.
I tried tightening the screw at #2 location.
But the location 1 still sits lower than other side.
Tightening location 2 helps for some time but it again goes back.
What else should I try? The spring looks comparable to other side.
Thank you

Should that be taper pinned?
I didn’t see any taper pin slot there
If you were align the arm again, as level/ square as you can, you could remove set screw, then drill into screw hole. Use a “Split-Point” bit as it will self-start. Drill a pocket for screw to seat into. It should stay in plsce.
With a drill bit small enough to not chew up the threads in the arm! Might be better to slide the arm out of the way or off and drill where the set screw should bear on the shaft. I think drilling through the threaded hole is too risky. First be certain the arm is exactly parallel with the other one, Hold or brace it there, remove the set screw, get a center punch that fits into the screw hole and punch the shaft with it firmly with a decent hammer. That should leave a dent that will center the drill bit. A set screw should have a conical end maybe with conical hole at the end, or just a conical tip, to fit into the drilled hole. And just drill the tip of the bit into the shaft, no more.
If you have two C-clamps and a small board long enough to reach the other arm, you can assure they are parallel.
thank you for all the help..
still in a process of fixing it
