Monogram? Initials?
Need help identifying this typeface. I think I found the name one time but forgot to write it down! Now I am stumped again.

These are called Broadway Monograms. You are showing an incomplete font. While you can use the characters individually as in your photo, a complete font would have two more of each character in a smaller size to fit into the mortises of the larger character. See these links:

Thanks Bob. Most helpful indeed. And your response killed two birds with one stone as the linked ATF page identified the typeface on the next galley — Fifth Avenue Monograms, which has to be the most condensed 36pt. type ever cast!
