The Midnight Press was started in 1975 by Walter A. Long of Akron, Ohio, with the purchase of a 5” x 8” Kelsey. Later he added a 5’ x 8’ Pearl and an 8” x 12” C&P. In his collection he boasted of 300 type fonts, and over 2000 foundry cast cuts and dingbats. Mr. Long did yearly demonstrations of printing at the Hale farm and Village in Bath, Ohio.
