California, University of: Book Arts Program

Informal or studio classes in printing and book arts have been offered continuously since the early 1970’s. A broad range of classes in the book arts are open to graduate and undergraduate students. Students may study for a degree in art with an emphasis on the book arts. Students are encouraged to produce individual or collaborative projects which include research, design, typography, printing, binding, etc. Presses include a Vandercook Universal I, a Chandler and Price 8 by 12, and a limited assortment of type. The College of Creative Studies has its own art gallery where students’ work is exhibited. Harry Reese, Lecturer in Art
