Ah Haa School for the Arts

Daniel Tucker founded the Ah Haa School of the Arts in 1990 with a dream of creating a book arts and creativity center for the Southwest. Expanding on that vision, the school has grown to offer year-round classes in everything from video production to papermaking to ceramics and creative writing. An introduction to letterpress printing class, taught by Tom Parson, is offered using a Gordon Old Style platen press. The hands-on class, with verbal asides on the history of metal and wood type and the function of design, includes the production of small format projects such as cards and broadsides.
