Photos of a Lead and slug tray and treadle needed

Hi! I have my C&P all clean and primed for paint! And I would love to see a photo taken from the nameplate side (Front?) of the press to see how everything hooks up.

I would also love a photo of someone’s lead and slug tray so I can see how to organize it.

These would be Greatly appreciated!

Lead and slug cases come in any number of configurations. I have two of the same kind that can be seen at the links below. They’re about the same length and width as a standard type case but are deep enough to stack two layers of leads and slugs in each compartment, one behind the other. The bottom two rows have compartments that increase in width for standard pica lengths from left to right. The increasing lengths continue at the top two rows, starting again at the left.

In the first and third rows I have 6 point slugs and in the second and fouth rows 2 point leads. These are the most commonly used leads and slugs. Most lead and slug cases have a layout similar to this though there are exceptions. For exmple, some are twice the length of mine for double type cabinets and have the 2 point lead and 6 point slug compartments straight across instead of in two levels like mine.

Here’s a helpful hint:

Leave enough space at the top of the rear stack so you can get your finger in and pull the leads and slugs out. Otherwise you have to fish in there with a piece of wire, etc. Don’t ask me how I know this.
