San Jose Historical Museum

Housed on twenty-five acres, the San Jose Historical Museum Print Shop is part of a complex of old homes and businesses that have been restored to preserve the history of the economic life of the Santa Clara Valley. The C. 1900 “Printing Office” exhibit includes a Liberty Challenge platen press, Excelsior Press, Miles proof press, Potter proof press and a variety of other presses which are not currently exhibited. Other buildings which have been restored, some of which have been moved to the Museum grounds, include a gas station, fruit barn, hotel, candy store, doctor’s office, stables, post office, fire house and a number of residential homes. Hours: 10:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday; 12:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. Saturday and Sunday.
