Heidelberg Windmill Press

Hi!

I’ve been a huge fan letterpress for a long time now - and I finally saw a press on eBay! I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice and if you could tell me anything important about the press?

This press is a Heidelberg Windmill T Platen (10” x 15”) and I asked if it was in working order, what accessories came with it and his reason for selling; and he said this:
“I was in production up until about 6 months ago. It was mainly used for small face slitting jobs and the odd numbering job. There are rollers with it but if you wanted to print with any quality I would suggest a new set of form rollers about $80.00 There are most of the usual accessories with the machine. The machine is not sold yet.”

Also, what consumables will I need? Where can I get repairs done (Australia) if needed?

Ethan

I myself wouldn’t buy a windmill unless I was to see it up and running… will you have the chance to take a look at it?

It looks like a good press, but I would agree with redheadedmatt, make sure you can see it first.
I personally wouldn’t consider a windmill a starter press. You may want to think about a C&P to start out with.
