Zone Opaque is a 2004-established letterpress and engraving workshop founded and run by enthusiast youngsters. It is focused on exploring new approaches to bookprinting with a strong emphasis on fusion between traditionnal and digital techniques. Its range of skills vary from complex setting processes to experimental copper-plate engraving, as well as custom type designs. Zone Opaque achieves its high quality standards mostly in the field of artists books, yet still friendly welcomes smaller projects which it happily fosters. The publishing side of the workshop is “Éditions au sein de zoé”.
