New Kelsey 5x8 Press
I am new here and have a few questions. I recently picked up a Kelsey 5x8 press and have a few quick questions. I have looked over the manuals and poured over this site and others such as Excelsiorpress.org.
My first question is one of my roller hooks is pretty bent. Is it too bent to print and should I pick up a new one?
My second question is what parts do I need for the gripper bar? Looks like a spring?
Third, where is the best place to pick up these parts? Excelsiopress? As far as I can tell this press looks pretty complete. Is there anything I am overlooking?
I am in the process of soaking the press in vinegar and lime juice to clean it up and get it all ready. Any help on these questions would be great! Thanks!

you have nothing to lose, remove the roller hook from the press and try to straighten it, it should be all right. the grippers are missing, the spring for the gripper bar looks like its there, and you need a chase. if i don’t mention this Alan will skin me, Excelsior Press has parts for these presses, he knows lots about these and is very helpful.
