Sigwalt 11 Chase

Hello all,

I recently acquired a Sigwalt 11 press and have begun restoring her back into operation. I’ve completed the tear down, cleaning, and rebuild. I have new rollers and trucks on their way.

The only thing I am missing is the chase. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one?

If not, does anyone have the measurements off their existing chase I could use to have one machined? I’d like to have at least two of them to play with.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

can I ask where did you get your rollers

Hi Tim you will need to make the chase they have all got lost over the years, They are not to hard to make.

3/16 x 5/8 stock weld in shape of a box 3 1/8” x 4 1/4”
then make some wedges out of 1/8” stock
tack on. needs to be 1/8” wide at 1 1/4” from bottom of chase and 1/4” at 1 3/4” from bottom of chase.
drill and tap for some screws on bottom.
may need some fine grinding to square up.
see photo small one is stock bigger is a No.2 Sigwalt I just made. You should have your rollers thursday. Tod

Just a quick update. I found another sigwalt #11 press with the chase and I just purchased it. Once I get the chase, I’m going to see if it would cost much to have some more machined. I may be able to help out some of the other Sigwalt #11 owners out there if it’s cost effective.
