Wrinkles Embossing With Die with Sharp points

Customer brought in a emboss die with sharp points on image and a sample of what he had before. I am getting wrinkles at the tips of his stars. I back pressure off image goes away, bring pressure back up to image I need to match is supremely perfect sample and I get wrinkles at the extreme angled points. Using Windmill, and I just can’t wrap my arms around this problem. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Buy some Dr. Scholls mole skin and cut it to match the point of the stars and place it on the counter. You might get too much ironing so you can also use masking tape instead. Are you using any cover film to over your counter? How hot is your temperature? Is your die copper? Is it a precast counter?
