Kelsey 5x8 inking issues

My Kelsey 5x8 makes a satisfying click when the platen meets the form - and I usually get a good impression. The click is a sort of snap noise from the handle.

For some reason, I’ve lost the click and the impression is splotchy and uneven. I checked roller height, platen is level and - here’s the kicker - it prints fine on a lighter weight stock. As soon as a I put a heavier weight stock in (like the Lettra 110#), the impression is cruddy (and no click). Any ideas? I miss the click and the good crisp print. Thanks!

Try backing the impression off or take some packing out so it will toggle over and “click”.

Thanks! removing some packing did the trick - got the click back (should have thought of that)
