C&P Serial Number
I’m looking into purchasing a 10x15 Chandler & Price letterpress and the serial number on the picture I received says C1699. I’ve looked on this list

but I can’t seem to find one that matches, there’s one’s that are close but no cookie? Can anyone give some advice as to what year it might be from or where I can look for the serial number?

Well, C601 was the starting number for 1906 and C1800 was the starting number for 1907, so C1699 was manufactured between those. Therefore, this press is an Old Series manufactured in 1906. The body castings and the flywheel should be pretty ornate.
