with or without gauges?

Can you please explain the advantages and drawbacks between commercial (without gauges) and “with gauges” registration?
Do gauges ensure a more precise registration?

Short answer is yes, gauges/guides allow for more precise registration. I’m sure others will elaborate but that’s the basic difference.

Yep. Hairline registration when tweaked well and run slower.
Some jobs with odd shaped stock can’t run well with guides, like coasters & bags. Other jobs that don’t require tight reg can run a bit faster with grippers.
