Five days letterpress workshop on the Åland Islands in the Baltic sea.
Run by Edward Johansson of Ahvaland Press (FI) and Claudio Madella of Officina Tipografica Novepunti (IT)
Five days of letterpress printing in one of the most remote printshops in Europe. A group of six people will concept, set up, print and bind a book with a set theme. The process will involve a collaborative approach to find concept and determine a format.
The project will be realised through hand set type (wood- and/or lead) as well as hand carving linoleum. We will be printing on either a Vandercook proofing press or a Heidelberg Windmill, depending which is more suitable for the outcome.
Each participant leaves with six copies of the book and other prints.
Workshop will be held in English.
Fee: € 400 person
Includes: transfer from ferry terminal on Åland, accommodation, most meals (not if we eat out), workshop fee and materials.
