Should you tip a rigger?

Help! I hate feeling unprepared financially!

We found someone to move both our Schneidwind & Lee 8x12 platen press and our stone-top table. That being said, I’m wondering if we should tip our rigger? He’ll be bringing 3 people total to make the move only about 10 miles. The space they’re moving from has one small step out the front door, as does the new space we’re moving into.

Do you typically tip your rigger? If so, how much?

I have many helpers moving stuff with me. Sometimes the tip comes in a form of buying lunch for them, or return favor when they need help. In the link below I was paying for lifting and placing on my trailer. I’d already done the moving to the back door and rigging it. He charge me $100 for 20mins of work and I pushed a $20 bill in his shirt pocket. If done right and safe you didn’t pay to much!!!! When something goes wrong you’ll fully understand the true cost of moving something!!!! Steve - Liberty Press

I would suggest that you NEVER tip a rigger, especially if your equipment is still elevated.

The best way to tip your rigger is to have things organized (furniture out of the way etc.) Don’t get in the way or second guess their work, and most important—pay promptly when the work is done.
