I have a friend in Grove City, Ohio that has an old piece of bookbinding equipment that I thought you might be interested in. I actually bought it from him thinking I could use it myself, as I’d like to learn the craft when I retire. But I don’t have space for it … so it’s still in his garage in Grove City.
It’s a book cutter made in Cleveland OH for Craftsman and has a 30” blade. It’s a manual cutter and fully workable. There is also a second blade.
It’s very heavy and we’ve removed the cutter deck to make it movable or transportable. You would need a trailer with ramp and perhaps some heavy-duty dollies to move it.
It’s a very nice piece of antique equipment. It still works well and I wish I could use it myself. But when I retire I will only dabble in bookbinding for myself and have no plans to go into the business.
I’m asking $650 but am flexible.
