Reflecting our ongoing commitment to celebrating local arts organizations, YBCA is proud to highlight the work of West-Berkeley-based Kala Art Institute. Founded in 1974, the Institute is dedicated to artists working in printmaking, digital media, photography and book arts. Located in a former Heinz ketchup factory, Kala is a constantly evolving global community of new names and established artists that serves the public through studio residency programs, gallery exhibitions, lectures, classes and outreach into the East Bay public schools.

YBCA’s screening room will show films from Kala Institute collaborators and residents.
