Gamblin ink and also where can I find metallic ink in the Bay Area?

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can find letterpress ink in the bay area (San Francisco, Oakland) ? specifically metallics? I know you can order online but I’m in a time crunch and would like to purchase in person if possible.

Also I saw that Gamblin has an oil based etching line - the consistency of the ink is very similar to vanson’s and i was wondering if anyone has ever used it for letterpress? I know speedball is too thin and not the best for this kind of craft.

Great western ink in Hayward has metalics in stock. You might also try Bay Press Services in Hayward, or Gans Ink in Hayward. Kelly Paper (several locations in the bay area) may have metalics in stock or can get them for you within a day. In all cases, be prepared to purchase about 2.2lbs (1kg) and pay ~$60/can.
