I bought this lovely Arab platen in the hopes that I would be able to take up letterpress as a hobby. Unfortunately I’ve never found the time, and I think it should go to a new home where it will get some use!
It’s a late 19th/early 20th Century hand-fed Arab 9”x13” platen, 2 chases, furniture and quoins provided. The two rubber rollers are in need of re-covering. There is also the option of adding a motor (provided). It has been motorised in the past.
$2000. Pick up from Sydney.
The press is located in a basement carpark 1 story underground, and I cannot help you move it. But the press can be disassembled and carried out (by some strong guys!), then put on a truck or trailer. That’s how I got it in there.
