For reference, my Windmill is #14917, made in 1931. If you take the impression counter off you should find a date stamp punched into the metal housing.

Hello phase4 and Dan, Our platen is s/n 9620 (1928), Platen # 19630 is somewhere between 1932 and 1939 (when production stopped for the war. For reference, s/n 15301 to 25000 depicts that time. S/N 14917, falls in the 1931 arena. s/n 14000 to 15300 cover the year 1931. Glad you liked the article and appreciate your kind words.

Nick, I have a platen No. 13349 (Split bed) and thats dated 1928, so would have thought that yours would be even older. on many occasions the tester at the factory scratched a production date on top of the counter.
I am compiling a press register and look forward to people adding their machinery.
