Any Press Movers in Chattanooga, TN & Cincinnati, OH?

Hi Everyone!

There is a Golding Pearl No. 11 in Chattanooga, TN that I may purchase. However, we are located “up the road” in Cincinnati, Ohio. My husband and I have a Ford Edge (back seats fold down), and we also have a hitch on the back, if needed. HOWEVER! I am extremely nervous to move the press ourselves. In all honesty, I don’t really want to at all!

Initially, I was wondering if we could hire some press moves in Chattanooga, TN to load and haul the press back to Ohio. Then I thought, maybe some fine folks could help us load it in Chattanooga, TN ,and then some fine folks could help us unload it Cincinnati, Ohio? Just wanted to reach out via Briar! I wasn’t sure where to look! (Google didn’t turn up anything I trusted!)

Just trying to explore options to see if this is feasible for us.

Side Note: The press is missing the treadle (pedal & connecting pieces)—so if anyone has one they want to sell, I am wanting to buy, buy, buy!

Thanks In Advance!
Renee :)

It’s got to be a 700 mile round trip. A little hand fed press probably weighs considerably less than a ton, so you could pull it with a come-along onto a low trailer with a ramp, but that would be quite a long and heavy tow with a medium sized car.

Renee, a Golding Pearl No. 11 is not that daunting an object to move - probably < 600 lbs, if I were to guess. Easy enough to break down into components if it deosn’t fit intact. Not sure of the space in a Ford Edge, but it would easily fit in a minivan. If it’s a good fit for you - go for it!
