Hauer Record Proofing Press
I’m currently restoring a Hauer Proofing press and have a couple of things I need to find out. Does anyone know the working height of the press from the ground when it is supported on its stand? The second question relates to the roller mechanism. Does anyone know where the springs attach to the plates that release/drop the rollers?
Photos would be helpful here…
I put some 30 photographs of Hauer Record proof presses, with several details on Flickr, here is the link:

Hopefully it’s helpful.
Will upload some images
Thanks Thomas this is very interesting. I this your press? You can see from the pictures that I’m missing a couple of vital bits of information. Firstly where the spring attaches? Secondly the dimensions of the rail stops and thirdly the height of the bed to the floor when it is on a stand.

Hello
I , am from the Netherlands and I have also the Hauer Record press. But I miss the casing of the smallest steel roll.
Can anybody help me giving the dimensions of this roll?
I have only the core! see the photo

Hello M. Zuithoff, the missing part is the so-called ‘lik- of verdeelrol’, and is not that easy to manufacture. The best would be to get in touch with someone in the Netherlands, who’s got an identical press. Contact me off-site for names and/or addresses of owners in the Netherlands. Groeten, Thomas Gravemaker.
