The Inland Printer magazine

Hello letterpress enthusiasts! The Smithsonian Library just made an excellent post about The Inland Printer publication and linked to an incredible online archive of issues from the magazine. Just wanted to share it here because the issues are really fun to flip through.

From the Smithsonian Library’s Tumblr (http://smithsonianlibraries.tumblr.com/) “When your thing is printing, it pays to have a well designed cover! The Inland Printer was possibly the first magazine in America to change its cover on each issue, and remains a landmark journal in documenting the American printing industry during its heyday.”

Thanks for posting this. I have been using the Hathitrust on-line Library to research in the old Inland Printer magazines, but this one, the Smithsonian’s site, has Volumes 1 and 2, 1883-1885, which were not available on the Hathitrust site.
