contact info Jim Tredennick?

I’m looking for contact info for Jim Treddennick (sp.) from Hayward CA. He built a couple of windmill foil stamper attachments for me years ago. Side draw, air drive, great units. He may not even be around. Any info appreciated.

Hello, when I first saw your post a few days back in the back of my head I knew I knew that name. While running a Kluge today Jim Tredinnick popped back into my head. I went to the file cabinet and pulled out a flyer of his. This flyer had to be from around 1990 give or take. I met with him at his shop located at 2480 Middlefield Road Unit 101 In Redwood City .Phone 415 368-6080 where he was making Neu-Foil units for Klugies and Windmills. He was also heavily involved in making machines the would automatically spin tops onto containers such as a bottle of orange juice etc. Also met his buddy Ray Pudmatio 415 365-1444. I tried both numbers today and they both were disconnected. Tredinnick is the correct spelling. Sorry I couldn’t been any more help. Bud N.

Bud, thanks for the info. I’m exploring getting back into foil embossing. We ran his NeuFoil setup daily, for years, with very few problems. The sterling toggle base made it easy to lock up a die. Thanks again, Bruce

Sorry I wasn’t much help. Do you live in the bay area? I used to live in San Mateo but moved years ago. What kind of press do you plan putting foil on? Bud

A windmill. I lived in Sonoma County for most of my life, in Santa Rosa. My dad had a hot metal type shop, and I had a letterpress finishing business. I moved to Fort Wayne IN in 2011 after I sold it. I kept a couple of accounts, and have a windmill as my daily runner. (down from 5 windmills). I haven’t done any foil since the move, and I’m looking at adding a windmill.
I’ve run and owned C&P, Kluges, Miehle 29 letterpress, Miehle V50 (prewar), 13x18 Heidelberg GTP stamper, and several 10 x15 windmills. I’ve also done a fair amount of repro proofing on a Vandercook Universal. -Bruce

Bruce, interesting past. I wish you well in your quest. I’m in Visalia CA if for any reason I can be of help out here on the west coast don’t hesitate, my number is 559 730-1596 Bud

Thanks Bud. You’re running mostly Kluge stampers?

Bruce, foil on 2 klugies, a 10x15 and a 12x18 both with home made pullers with Lutz hot plates. Have 2 10x15’s Heid, one with factory foil and one with homemade side draw pullers but haven’t run either of the Heids yet with foil, I use them for mostly diecutting.. One of the Heid has a homemade side draw unit, the place I got it from was running nothing but napkins on it with foil, I saw it run, and I was impressed. But as a rule I foil on the two Klugies. The 13x18 puller is a stepper, you can really save on the foil. Bud

The kluge is a reliable press. I had a 14 x 22, but ended up with several windmills. The windmills were less expensive, and we got good production from them. Still do.
