Ink on Clothes
Does anyone have any experience getting rubber-based ink out of clothes, specifically my favorite necktie? The tag says it is 50% wool 50% dacron polyester.
A sudden rain storm at a festival this weekend forced me to relocate my Craftsmen in a hurry, and I thought my apron was high enough to protect me from my rollers.
The nearest dry cleaner is 40 miles away, and I am looking for any experiences before driving 80 miles round-trip, twice. It’s not valuable, but it is irreplaceable as a part of my printer costume.

I’ve always used Goop hand cleaner. The original is also a great stain remover. So don’t get the pumice or orange one….just the original. Comes in 14 oz. tubs or small tubes. Try a store like Fleet Farm, Menards, Harbor Freight or of course, Amazon.
Says right on the label that it removes ink…and it does.

Well it’s not science unless it’s documented, and it’s not a proper forum without reporting the results.
I purchased a 10.5 fl. oz. tube of Goop Original Multi-Purpose Hand Cleaner at my local hardware store for $4.99, and tried it out. The instructions for washable clothes said to apply liberally and let stand for 20 minutes, or overnight for severe stains. I considered this severe.
The next morning I hand-rinsed with warm water and some light scrubbing from a toothbrush in my laundry sink. After air-drying, there was only the smallest trace of ink remaining. I re-applied Goop for one more overnight, and repeated the sink wash. After air drying the second time, I could find no sign of ink.
This is not a paid endorsement. I am not an influencer. Your results may vary. Thank you Bob!
