Need help determining age of Miehle No. 3 flatbed

A Miehle No. 3 flatbed press, S/N 7897 is now nearly ready to display at the Bruce Memorial Museum in Waitsburg, Wash.
Does anyone have knowledge or a way to tell what year that serial number was manufactured?
Anecdotally, I know the press was being used prior to 1942.
Any help would be appreciated.

The press was assembled and sold in 1912.

Thank you Devils Tail Press!
Appreciate your input.
We are curious where you got the information?

In the past I have operated a Miehle 29 flatbed, and used to own a Miehle Pony two-revolution press. I still have an archive of paperwork, including serial numbers for their machines as well as copies of notes by a press installer and his service company. I also have two books about the set-up and operation of flatbed Miehle presses.

Dear Devils Tail,
Does your archives indicate the purchaser of our No. 3, S/N 7897?
Loyal

Hi Loyal, Unfortunately those kinds of records are likely not to have survived. I do have a booklet that refers to presses that were sent as replacements to the San Francisco Bay area after the 1906 earthquake, and likely the only one of those that still survives is the flatbed (one of two) sent to Horwinski Printing in Oakland. But no serial numbers were attached.
