Mounting counter to Craftsmen Superior

Does anyone have experience mounting a counter to a Craftsmen Superior (or C&P Pilot or similar platen)?

I’m trying to figure out how to rig my Redington counter (arm on right side).

I’m thinking it should sit on the main left strut and somehow the counter arm is linked to the roller arm on that side. See second pic where I’m holding it where I think may work. I just don’t know whether a string or chain would work.

Any pics of what has worked for you would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
/brad

@Macernst thanks for the suggestion and tip. I hadn’t thought about that location. I’ll give it a try
