Calendar for 2026

Coaxing aged, arthritic fingers to grasp most type these days is becoming a challenge, but I’ve managed to produce yet again a limited run of a 2026 calendar. Printed on both a 3x5 and 5x8 Kelsey press, the result is satisfying and, although far cry from the halcyon days of producing my newspaper, keeps the synapses firing and the ink flowing. :o)
The picture is, obviously, computer generated, but the after-printed head text is 36pt. Post Oldstyle and 14 and 18pt.Stymie. The calendar pad numbers are 18pt. Cooper Bold, the days 10pt. Garamond, and the months 18pt.Stymie.
To those believing a forme is best limited to 25% of capacity in order to achieve respectable image, please note the calendar pad (less Month) was printed on the 3x5 in one pass per page.
I miss my venerable Miehle Pony of course, but the tabletops help stir fond memories of oil-base inks, kerosene rags, and the unforgettable sounds of Intertypes, Ludlows, and the odour of just poured stereos meeting image mats. Trust this stirs memories for others.
