This is a rare find! It’s a Craftsmen Superior, a near exact copy of the Chandler & Price Pilot. It was manufactured by the Craftsmen Machinery Co. in Boston when the C&P Pilot patent ran out in the 1950’s.

This is a great letterpress, restored to perfection by T&T Press Restoration in Hugo MN, twelve years ago. It’s been treated with the love and respect it deserves. It comes with brand new never used rollers and in excellent working condition. These vintage presses are very hard to find, especially in turnkey condition like this one. It’s perfect for beginners and a solid machine, easy to set up and ready to print stationery, cards, napkins, flyers or anything your imagination comes up with.

I purchased this fully restored and has been oiled and maintained in perfect condition—no welds, no rust. Judging from the polymer plates I’ve kept, I’ve only used it 25-30 times since I bought it. The only reason I’m selling is that my design studio got very busy very quickly and I had to start outsourcing my printing. I’ll be sad to see this little guy go. But I feel like it could be out there making someone else happy.

It’s fitted with a Boxcar base so you can use polymer plates for super fast and easy set up.
