Here’s a classic mid-20th-century typeface designed by Peter Dombrezian for American Type Founders. Its relaxed, brush-lettered style gives it a friendly, informal look that works well for posters, signs, and display work. Dom Casual has been widely used in various media, including television shows such as Bewitched, Home Improvement, and Sesame Street; films: Dom appeared in the 1956 musical Rock, Rock, Rock!; and business signage: it was used by companies such as A&P and Hideaway Pizza. As wood type, Dom Casual performs especially well at large sizes. The slightly irregular strokes and open forms print clearly and with character. Minor variations in inking or impression tend to enhance rather than detract from its appearance. This set includes 184 characters of 12 line (2” high) wood type.
